Ephesians

Paul wrote a letter from his prison cell in Rome to the believers in the cultural center of Asia Minor. The story of Jesus was spreading, his church was forming, and Paul wanted to help people understand how they were to lead their lives. These were people who heard the gospel and made a choice, whether coming from Hebrew culture or other people groups now being reached, and needed to understand who God chose them to be, how they could live, and how Jesus is the cornerstone of both. This letter helps us comprehend how adoption in Jesus effects who we are both in the eternity we strain to wrap our minds around and the everyday existence of doing business, having a relationship, running a home—and how they are not as far from each other as we think.
