Holiness: Questions for Discussion
To start off our series on holiness, we broke up into groups at our Sunday night gathering and talked through these ten questions:
1. What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word "holy"?
Holy, Holy, Holy
Message Notes
The notes from 06.08.2008 are available here.
Son of God, Son of Man Art Show :: The Books are Here
The books from our first art show have arrived. The final price for forty pages of original art (plus thoughts from the artists) came out to $27.50/book. If you ordered a book (or several) and you want to pick it up, they will be available at Sunday night gatherings. Just make your check out to Second Mile with a note that indicates it's for an art show book. If you have any questions about your order, contact Scott through Facebook.
A New Season of Ministry

Second Mile has been on a tremendous journey over the past three years. The question that has been on the forefront of our minds as a community is, “God, what would you have us do next?” It has been a question that seems so simplistic yet, if given serious consideration, it is one of the most complex realities in effectively reaching people with a healthy expression of the body of Christ.
Art Show Online Gallery

This year past summer, Second Mile decided to do a series focusing on Jesus. We'd experienced books of the Bible together before, but we wanted to look directly at the heart of the story. As we were figuring out the particulars, we thought this would be a good time to try something we had hoped to put on since Second Mile began: an art show. We knew about Jesus's prevalence in artwork throughout history, but we wanted to give our community a chance to create and view work made by artists with contemporary media and mindsets.
Son of God, Son of Man videos

When we did our Son of God, Son of Man series, we wanted to better understand the divinity and humanity of Jesus. To do that, we looked at aspects of this life that he knew as a man and connected them with the stories of people who are part of the community that is Second Mile. The videos recording those interviews each give perspective on what it means to be a person, and they are now available to view online along with the messages from the series.
Church Chair Drive

Calvary is replacing the fixed wooden theater seating in the sanctuary with movable, cushioned chairs. They are asking everyone at each of the four churches that shares the complex to purchase at least one. (No, you can’t take it home with you.) The cost per chair is $58, and their goal is 250 total chairs to fill the room. You can make the check out to Second Mile, with “chair” in the memo.
