Week of Prayer: Monday

Home Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Answered Prayer
Personal and Relational Clarity
Holiness is a big deal to God and throughout all of scripture. As you start the journey of this week reflect on the holiness of God. Allow this reflection to turn towards your own character and holiness. Are you living each day in submission to the Spirit of God? Are you fully connected to the life given through the vine (John 15:5)? - OR - Do you suffer from a major build up of sin and self gratification hindering God’s activity in your life?
“But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
~ 1 Peter 1:15-16
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
~ 1 Peter 2:9
Reflect on the above passages
• Ask God to reveal areas of sin and rebellion in your life.
• Take time to confess your sin and embrace the fact that you are a child of God. (Psalm 51:1; Isaiah 43:25; Acts 3:19-20; Romans 2:4; Revelation 2:5)
• Embrace the reality that Jesus has paid your ransom and has set you free from your sin (Mark 10:45). Spend a significant time expressing your gratefulness to Jesus for his sacrifice.
Other passages for reflection concerning Holiness: Exodus 15:11; 1 Samuel 2:2; 1 Corinthians 15:34; 2 Corinthians 6:17, 7:1, 11:2; Philippians 2:14-16; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Timothy 5:22; Titus 2:9-10; Revelation 15:4
Now that you have identified and confessed areas that impede on Jesus’ activity in your life, how are you connected to community which supports steady transformation?
Community is as large a topic in scripture as Holiness. Both are vital for sustained growth and dependence on Jesus.
“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
~ Galatians 6:2
• Ask God to reveal to you the relationships that are vital for your spiritual nourishment.
• Pray for clarity in friendships. Ask Jesus to reveal any relationships you have that may need attention. Do you have any unresolved conflict that needs to be addressed? Ask the Spirit for grace and courage in these needed conversations.
Helpful scripture concerning this topic: Matthew 5:23-24, 6:15; Mark 11:25; Ephesians 4:26; Colossians 3:13; 2 Timothy 2:16
What will it take for you to develop genuine accountability in the context of community?
• Ask God to remove a heart of stone and create within you a heart of flesh.
• Ask Jesus to develop vulnerability within your character, so that you will not find comfort in secrecy.
Let this be the year that others experience and learn from your transparency!
