Moxie

Our mission is to be an integral part of rooting, building up, and maturing students in Jesus so that they may forcefully pursue His will for their lives.

What is Moxie:

The women of Second Mile desire to come together to pursue Jesus with strength, earnestness, and femininity that pleases Jesus. We hope to live out this life with “moxie” which means courage, fearlessness, and the ability to face difficult situations with spirit and backbone. Women who live with moxie are not weak-willed. They are strong in their understanding of Jesus, the world around them, and who they are in Christ.

“But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.” Hebrews 10:39

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Moxie Mentors:

Second Mile’s women’s ministry is not marked by traditional bible studies or programmed activities. We hope to create space in the lives of women to engage with their friends, family, and Core Communities. From within community, relationships emerge in which teaching, training, and accountability take place. Mentoring begins when a woman humbles herself to learn from another woman who is a little further along in her spiritual journey.

If you would like more information about being mentored, your Core Community leader is the first person to contact. If you are interested in more information about mentoring in the context of Second Mile, please email Angel Haynes.

Retreat de Moxie:

Once a year, the women retreat to the mountains to get away from the busyness of life for one short weekend. We open our bibles together to drink deeply of God’s word. We sing and worship Jesus at the top of our lungs. We engage with old friends, make new friends and allow our hearts, minds, and souls the opportunity to laugh, cry, and rejuvenate.

Please email Angel Haynes for more information about upcoming retreats.
